User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Thunderbird version 1.0 (20041206), running on a Windows XP SP2 (but also seen on Windows 2k SP4, RedHat ES 3 and Fedora Core 3). Thunderbird will sporadically lose connectivity with the mail server. it just won't do anything, it writes "checking email..." or "sending email..." and it will remain like this until the application is closed by pressing the close button (the little x on the top right). this will cause thunderbird main window to disappear but thunderbird will still be running, taking with it all the connectivity from browsers, ftp clients, etc. the only way to solve this is by killing thunderbird using the task manager, disable the ethernet card and renewing the ip. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. open thunderbird. get new email. 2. write a new email, press send. nothing happens, also the browser stops working 3. all the connectivity is dead Actual Results: n.a Expected Results: n.a
Isn't this a dup of 278283? I'm not "sufficiently empowered" to change its status though. I get this about every day.
