I guess that it has something to do with the text height being set to 2px in the css, but that is just a sheer guess. No, they are just the background of two <h1> tags. The text within these <h1> tags is set by style-sheets to be 2px high (unseeable on the computer screen). When the text size is decreased suffiently, this invisible text gets displayed. I'll post some screenshots of what I mean after I've finished installing something onto my computer.

Look at the two added pictures, mainly the second one. This text doesn't appear on the webpage (try and search for 'Firefox 1.0 - Rediscover the web' at normal size text and you will see that nothing gets highlighted). The first picture shows the same page but one text size decrease before.
