Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax)
Proposed NEW FEATURE: When running a query, the user should have the ability to
add text to the banner of the resultant query list. One way to do this is
similar to the current ability of naming the query. A text field could be added
to the query page which be added to the banner of the query results list.
Another option is to just add the query name to the banner. This adds value to
the query list, particularly when the list is printed and copied.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run any query
2.Banner is always the same "canned" banner
3.
Actual Results:
n/a
Expected Results:
A query results banner that included user configurable text.
n/a

Mike,
Sounds like your initial thought was for "A text field could be added to the
query page ...". So I'm suprised at no response on the resolution as dup.
Your first suggestion is far simpler to implement and might see the light of day
sooner than the second suggestion, embodied in bug 65391 (now 4.5 years old),
even though the later will perhaps provide more helpful information.
I'd like to see this unduped and take a life of it's own based on the summary,
which specifies a *USER* annotation (even if 65391 eventually makes progress).

I agree with Waynes comment ( comment 2). This is a relatively simple mod with significant added value. Bug 65391 is a bit more sophisicated but has been "dead ended". I am going to undupe this and see what happens.

LpSolit and I both agree--there is no justification for further complicating the query.cgi interface for this. Also, the bug didn't "dead end"--it's fixed, and it's a feature as of Bugzilla 3.4. All searches have a specific summary at the top of exactly what you searched for.
