User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050301 Firefox/1.0+ (PowerBook)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050301 Firefox/1.0+ (PowerBook)
Since 2005-02-28. When opening a link to a secure site (https) in a *new tab*,
the location bar doesn't show the URL of the page. For example, command click on
a link to Bugzilla in Peter(6) nightly builds thread
(http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=227465) to open it in a new tab.
The new tab opens in the foreground, with the warning message (entering secure
page). The page loads but the URL is not shown, and the reload button is not
shown. The reload menu item is greyed out. (see attached screen shot)
This is possibly related to bug 284130.
This only happens when the preference '
security.warn_entering_secure.show_once' is set to false (show warning message
every time)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Command click on a https link to open in a new tab (ie to Bugzilla)
2.New tab comes to foreground, warning message shows up (OK)
3.
Actual Results:
The page load correctly, but the location bar is empty and the Reload button and
menu item are disabled.
Expected Results:
The location bar should show the URL of the page. The Reload Button should be
active.
Both with my ususal profile and a plain default fresh new profile.

I'm not seeing the address in urlbar, with security.warn_entering_secure set to
true (security.warn_entering_secure.show_once may be set to true though), and in
this case autoscrolling does not work.
Steps to reproduce :
1. set security.warn_entering_secure to true
2. middle-click a https link
3. a security warning dialog pops up, make sure the "Alert me when..." checkbox
is checked before clicking ok
--> no address is shown in urlbar and autoscrolling is disabled

In order to see the bug you must have "Select new tabs opened from links"
unchecked and not switch to the new tab manually.

Flags: blocking-aviary1.1?
I'm seeing this in Camino 2005030508 (my first nightly since Feb 24), so isn't
this a core bug somewhere?

Using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2)
Gecko/20050309 Firefox/1.0+ (PowerBook)
Did fixing bug 284993 resolve the problem ? At least for me, opening a https
link to a new tab now shows the URL in the location bar correctly. And the
'reload' button/menu item is now active upon loading the page.

The fix from bug 284993 does seem to have resolved this bug in Camino 2005031308
(v0.8+). It also seems fixed to me in Firefox/1.0+ 20050313 (Mac).
Olivier, is it working on Win now, too?
