Suggest either a DUPLICATE of bug 91761, WONTFIX, or a lot of discussion followed possibly by confirmation and a summary change. This is way back from bug 54556. See <http://tinyurl.com/7wmh4>. It seems that the intentions of the time were spelled out rather well. If the times have changed enough that this function should be restricted to admins only, then it should probably be preceded by at least a little bit of discussion. BTW, the summary change would be to something like "Restrict Sanity Check to admins only".

First, is to get it out of the footer, because it needs to be pressed about once a year. Second, is the issue of who *can* press it. My intention was only to only get it out of the footer. Bug 91761 is about the security. I really could care less about the access control on this action, so I don't agree that this is a dup of 91761. If you really want to mark it as a dup, I think bug 286338 would be a bit closer. Also, if you could find the bug mentioned in comment #3 that would also be OK. I looked, and could not find it. Getting it off of the footer is probably a lot faster to do then the access control part, so I would rather keep them as seperate issues.
