While this can be done using the 'Delete mail marked as junk' option, like in any other folder, it's much more conveient to have the option in the context menu when right-clicking the junk folder, just as such a shortcut exists for emptying the trash folder. The junk folder exists to have the possibility of reviewing mail marked as junk before it is deleted. however, it usually does contain junk, and is deleted in its entirety after a quick review.
