When a message is received in HTML format with an inline image the image renders
correctly in the main message pane. When the "Reply To Message" button is
pressed all of the original message is rendered in Message Compose window except
the image.
In place of the inline image is an image place holder (tiny edit box with
adjustable handles for resizing the image) and the broken image icon.
Grabbing a resizing handle and enlarging the image place holder displays the
inline image until the mouse button is rleased, image dissapears.
Right click the mouse on the place holder and selecting "Cut" or "Delete"
removes both image place holder and broken image icon. Using "Edit/Undo"
replaces the image inline in the correct position, and allows the message to be
replied to with the image intact.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive a message in HTML format with an inline .jpg or .gif image.
2. Press the Reply to Sender button.
3. Review any text within the Compose window and look for the inline image.
4. Locate the image Place Holder.
5. Right click on the image place holder and select "Cut, or Delete".
6. On the Compose Tool Bar select Edit/Undo".
7. Inline image now appears.
8. Enter any additional text below the Quoted text.
9. Click the Send Button.
10. All quoted text, the original image, and new text are received at the
address in the reply to address field.
Actual Results:
1. Replying to a HTML message with an inline image where the inline image has
been replaced with image place holder and the broken image icon the receiver of
the reply only gets the original text message and any new text entered for the
reply. The original image os missing.
2. Replying to a HTML message with an inline image where the inline image has
been replaced with image place holder and the broken image icon, and deleting
the image place holder, then undoing the delete action places the image back
into the quoted section of the reply message body. Sending the reply results in
the original sender receiving both quoted text, image, and new text.
Expected Results:
When a HTML message is received with an inline image and that message is replied
to, the quoted section of the message should contain both the quoted text and
the image intact. Right clicking on the quoted image should allow the user to
cut or delete the image if needed.
In a future revision of the suite perhaps a preference could be added to allow,
or deny inline image in a reply message. For now just fixing the broken image
in reply messages is good enough.

Reproduced with Moz 1.7.6; however, it does not occur with Moz 1.8b2-0309.
See bug 206681.
