I've been told there's no setting to change this behaviour and I'd like to file this feature request to make a setting for this popup window not to show up. You can effectively disable this by using about:config to set network.http.phishy-userpass-length to a number larger than any user name you use to login. See bug 243572 comment 3 and bug 276018 comment 2. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 243572 ***
