User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 When using the vertical layout in Thunderbird, the message index (the pane that displays all the subject lines) is visually cramped and the information is typically prematurely truncated. Outlook 2003 has a good solution to this; each entry in the message index is two lines high. The sender and date are written on the top line, and the subject is written below in a gray font. It looks very slick and is a lot more functional than Thunderbird's claustrophobic vertical index. I'd very much like to see this layout in Thunderbird. Reproducible: Always
Added a screenshot attachment that shows the Outlook 2003 two-line index.
I'm pretty sure we've got bugs on this. Would require extensive tree widget changes to support a multi line row but would be great if someone did that.
