User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 It is very frustrating to use the search bar, because it always remembers the last search. Under Unix I select the text I want to search and just paste it in, but I would have to remember to clear the search bar first and then paste it or I will lose my new search string. Even under Windows this is annoying as you still have to clear the search bar. I have never needed to reuse that search string, and this annoys me to the point of opening a new web page to do the search. It completely defeats the purpose of having a search bar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Search for something 2. Search string remains 3. Actual Results: NA Expected Results: Clear search string in search bar after search
Ain't gonna happen. Bug 275193 is a request for a work-around. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 255404 ***

It's not a dupe. I mean the web/engine search next to the address bar (I don't know what it's called, but I use it to search via Google). And I don't want it cleared automatically after X seconds, but rather as soon as I execute the search.
