In the console window I see the following messages: dori@lexx:~$ sudo /opt/firefox/firefox Password: *** loading the extensions datasource *** getItemProperty failing for lack of an item. This means getResourceForItem failed to locate a resource for aItemID (item ID = http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.0.6/patches/307259.xpi, property = disabled) *** getItemProperty failing for lack of an item. Actual Results: It seems like it should have been installed but it isn't. Expected Results: Patch being installed
Known issue. See bug 307259 comment 62. Should be fixed in the next hour or so...

Looks like this will take a while... someone with write access to the ftp site is needed to do this and it is the weekend.
BTW: The extension is not an extension manager extension so it will not be displayed in the extension manager window... it just copies a pref file on install to the application's defaults/pref dir.
The latest comments in bug 307259 suggest that the updated xpi has been uploaded to the mirrors
Actually, I just tried it again and it still has 400 for permissions on the files inside the xpi (see bug 307259 comment #73 ) - bug 189905 has additional details about what is going on.
grrr... still not fixed.

An updated xpi patch has been pushed to the mirrors and I verified that it does have the correct perms. Note that the EM does not display xpi's that are not packaged for the EM so this patch will not be displayed. resolved -> fixed
