(This bug imported from BugSplat, Netscape's internal bugsystem. It was known there as bug #108344 http://scopus.netscape.com/bugsplat/show_bug.cgi?id=108344 Imported into Bugzilla on 02/11/99 19:43) [from Peter Teuben <teuben@astro.umd.edu> ] Hello: (i've posted this problem many versions ago, but it's still present in the last 1997 4.04 version of netscape) Once again I lost a number of important files, preferences.js and my .newsrc file for sure, maybe more. I've written about this before. When is netscape going to save its files in a proper way (save to a temp name, if successfull remove the old one and rename the temp). Please please pretty please? If your disk quota run out, or your disk happens to fill up, you are in serious trouble as netscape tries to write to the same file, and thus will write a 0-length file. Goodbye all your hard labor. It's probably present in all versions, although I've had this problem/accident now two or three times over the recent past and on linux.
Changing TFV to 5.0.
Chris, is this still relevant in new world?
