Dear Friends,
First I would like to thank you for this beautiful programme.
I always sign my emails and mainly send them with S/MIME encryption. This means, I encrypt for all addressees for whom I have certificates.
While the menu point Tools/Account Settings/Security/Default encryption settings ... offers to choose between „Never“ and „Required“ I would like to propose two additional choices, “Priority” and “If possible”.
The following rules should apply:
Priority: The email will always be encrypted when a certificate is available for the addressee(s); (if certificates are not available for at least one addressee the email must never be encrypted).
In the second case ("If possibile") a warning prompt will be shown asking the user:
1.)Encrypt the email if possible? (The unencrypted email will not be sent to all other addressees!)
2.)Send the email unencrypted to all addressees?
3.)Cancel?
Another way would be – as with "kmail“ – to mark the addresses in the address book whether emails should be encrypted (S/MIME and GnuPG ?) or not. Selection similar as for sending in text or HTML format.
Cheers!
Peter
Reproducible: Always
