When I start Firefox again and additional instance of the process is added in Task Manager and remains after I close it. I've had no instances of Firefox open or visible, yet had as many as six running in the Task Manager. Reporter, can you try to run in safe-mode (without extensions) ? The problem is probably caused by an extension. Sometimes, a plugin is the culprit, especially Java.
