User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050920 Firefox/1.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050920 Firefox/1.0.7 This bug is occurring in all previous versions of firefox, including the current 1.5. My download directory is on a vfat partititon so I have access to it when I boot into Windows XP. When I select a file for download, e.g., kdvdbackup-0.6-1.pm.2.i586.rpm, download manager gets confused with the vfat filename and extension and produces a double extension. So the file gets saved as kdvdbackup-0.6-1.pm.2.i586.rpm.rpm (not the .rpm.rpm at the end of the name). This is annoying because I always need to removed the excessive extension. This does not happen when the destination is a directory on my Linux partition. So it seems to be specific to the vfat filename handling. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 0. You should have auto-download to disk enabled, or perform the steps below twice 1. Goto http://packman.links2linux.org/?action=595 2. Click on the link kdvdbackup-0.6-1.pm.2.i586.rpm 3. Download manager starts and downloads the file to kdvdbackup-0.6-1.pm.2.i586.rpm.rpm (note the double extension). Expected Results: Saved the file to kdvdbackup-0.6-1.pm.2.i586.rpm (".rpm" occurs only ONCE, not twice as in .rpm.rpm).
