Using Windows XP in the Start menu exists the standard mail app menu item "Mozilla Thunderbird". A right click opens a context menu with 3 items: E-Mail lesen (Read mail) properties -------------------------------- Aus Liste entfernen (Remove....) The "properties" item seems to be NOT localizable in Thunderbird?! The related context menu for Firefox provides a localiable "%S &Options" entity in browser\locales\en-US\chrome\browser\shellservice.properties.

shellservice.properties for Firefox 2.0 includes one more localizable entity: optionsLabel=%S &Options safeModeLabel=%S &Safe Mode Both should be localizable for Thunderbird, too.

This bug is still existing in the new NSIS installer for Thunderbird and it occurs in Win XP Pro admin accounts and in user accounts. Sometimes "Thunderbird options" is shown, but in most cases only "properties" is shown instead of "Thunderbird Einstellungen" for german users. Other l10n installers have the same problem - not only the german one. Firefox l10n installers don't have this problem.

I'm not sure if this is installer or the lack of a shellservice for thunderbird. Because I don't find shellservice in mail at all.

At least it's possible to open Thunderbirds options dialog, using the "Thunderbird Options" / "properties" menu item.

This should do it.
