On a Mac, an up or down arrow pressed when the caret is showing, ie when you are editing (focused in) a text field particularly a single line text field, an up arrow should move the caret to the start of the text and a down arrow to the end. This happens in single line text boxes in web pages, the Address box, searchbox and other text boxes in preferences, tools etc. It currently seems to work in a multiline text field but not a single line text field.
