I also screwed up in that I didn't CC myself to this when marking it as a dupe, and as such did not answer your queries.

Sooo.. this is a dependency on the other bug, I twiddled some stuff. And yeah. Until we get some policy on this we can't take any action.

This isn't a policy bug, it's about this incompatible extension appearing as though it's compatible. It has a maxversion of "Deer Park" for the latest entry, and I have no idea what our version code does with that. We also say "Firefox 0.7 - 1.0+ ALL" for the compat blurb at the bottom of the listing, but then offers to install on my Bon Echo a3 (which happily fails due to incompatibility). I'm pretty interested in getting rid of the "Deer Park" version string, which I've marked as non-public (along with a bunch of other old pre-release versions), but that's a separate bug, IMO.

Raising severity -- version constraints are our lives.

As Cameron points out to me, we don't try to do version checking, and only "enforce" the platform. We should enforce version the same way, I think. Bleh.

*sigh* Unhijacking the bug to leave this just as a policy issue (though I think that our policy will likely be "needs to be kept working with updates to the release version for which it was marked compatible", and not "must be updated for all future versions").
