Copying text from a browser page to a rich text document doesn't preserve formatting. Pasted text defaults to Helvetica 12 (Black) regardless of source. This isn't the case with IE 5.2.3 for Mac (full text formatting preserved) and Safari 2.0.x (full text formatting preserved and all embedded images are copied to target). Would be happy if Firefox behavior were to approximate what IE does; Safari's implementation of the clipboard is too inclusive.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Drag mouse over text to highlight it on any web page with formatted text.
2.Click copy (or Command+C) to select highlighted text.
3.Paste to TextEdit file or any other RTF document.
