User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 this may be slightly related to #327783 and 327737. lightning seems to want to occupy both the MessageList and MessagePane areas in Tb in expanded calendar mode. this may work for classic view since those two are stacked evenly over each other horizontally. this will not work with other views. i use the old layouts.xpi wide headers view, a "T". expanding places the calendar in the MessageList and changes the MessagePane into a blank background. switching back to Mail Mode returns the List, but the Pane is permanently broken requiring restart. proposal: either expand into 1)just List, 2)just Pane, 3)both if appropriate. a user pref would make this most flexible for most usage cases. Reproducible: Always
Since the latest nightlies of Tb2 have the new wide Message List view "T", it look like Tb2 will go with it. Unfortunately, Lightning breaks Tb2 in that view. It occupies the Message List, which is not optimal; should be Message Pane (or else configurable as above. Worse, Tb must be restarted to get back to using mail.
(In reply to comment #1) > Since the latest nightlies of Tb2 have the new wide Message List view "T"... I'm not sure what you're referring to. I just downloaded the latest nightly, and started it with a fresh profile. It still uses this (roughly drawn) 3-pane view: ------------------ |folder| message | | list | list | | |---------| | | preview | | | pane | | | | ------------------ What is the "T" you're referring to? A screenshot may be the easiest way to explain. , it > look like Tb2 will go with it. Unfortunately, Lightning breaks Tb2 in that > view. from this bug/rfe: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215661 "Users interesed in trying it out can go to Tools / Options / Advanced / Config Editor and change mail.pane_config.dynamic to have a value of 3." it's a great view, and it would be great to see Lightning in the Message Pane. thanks.
