It becomes impossible to input Japanese by IME in 1.8BRANCH of Firefox and Thunderbird.
It might be an influence of bug332579.

Reproducible: Always

Mac OS X 10.3.9
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1a2) Gecko/20060509 BonEcho/2.0a2
Thunderbird 1.8branch NB
Confirm this bug on OS X 10.4.6 with both Japanese and Traditional Chinese IMEs. Same build of FF as reporter with fresh profile. Same thing happens in Google search bar.

This is a very serious bug.
Confirmed by #1.
And FIXED might be done with bug337199.
