At times typing into text boxes, the address bar, or the search bar fails. The input location is active and in focus, and yet input does not display within the location. At least with the text boxes, opening another tab and moving to a few different pages seems to "unlock" the text box in the other tab that could not be typed into.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a few tabs. Use Firefox for at least ten minutes. (I have not seen it happen instantaneously.)
2. Open a tab with a text box in it.
3. Attempt to type into the text box.

Actual Results:  
I could not type into the text box.

Expected Results:  
I expected to be able to type into the text box.

Mac OS X 10.4.7, Apple iBook G4 1.33 GHz 512 MB RAM. Firefox Bon Echo nightly. Standard Firefox theme. No talkback crash ID. Build platform powerpc-apple-darwin8.7.0.

Also, the keyboard cannot be used to open a new tab (Apple+T) or close a current tab (Apple+W). This is with Bon Echo Beta 1, however.

This might be a dupe of Bug 324605.

I am experiencing the same behavior on:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1b1) Gecko/20060707 Firefox/2.0b1

I am running OS X 10.4.7 on a Macbook.

I filed bug 344006 for a detailed way to make this happen (involving Java). After that is fixed, we can see whether there are additional issues causing this bug.
