RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 344006
Firefox 2 beta2

People

Details

This is potentially related to Java apps, since I can get reliable STR using one of those. The symptoms are that when you switch OS focus away from the browser and then switch back, Firefox won't respond to any keyboard events (typing, command shortcuts, etc.)

STR:
1. Go to http://babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html
2. Switch to another application
3. Switch back and select the URL field, start typing

Expected: typing!
Actual: nothing!

A lot of people have noticed symptoms like this, although getting reliable STR is hard (I worry somewhat that the STR above might not work for everyone!). Related bugs might be bug 341730 or bug 344249 (which at the time of this writing hadn't landed on branch)

< mento> beltzner: that's one of those other serious regressions we need a newer JEP for
< mento> beltzner: occurs on the 1.8[.1] branch and trunk, 1.8.0 is immune
< beltzner> mento: so is that a straight dupe of 344249?
< mento> beltzner: not at all, but it is a dupe of another bug, i'll find it and mark it
< beltzner> k, thx ... and if that other isn't nominated for blocking, please do so
