See bug 345991 comment 5 and bug 345991 comment 6. One thought was to only match if the prefix is followed by '\0' or '\\' in the filename, but I'm not sure that works on Mac...
Note: we might end up with code in need of this in the subscript loader too.
The filename prefix stuff was removed some time ago.
