User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 TB version 1.5.0.5 (20060719) on Mac OSX, 10.4.7 build 8J135. I receive log file notifications from our web server on a cron, one of these has a msg body text of about 1578 lines long, I get this daily. TB opens and reads that email just fine, but if I try to forward this to someone else on the team, the composer window opens, draws a blank window on the screen and then we get a busy beach ball and Thunderbird "dies".. if I check processes it show "Thunderbird (not responding) I have no choice but to force quit. I can copy the text and create a new memo and when i try to paste into the blank compose window, TB behaves the same as above: freeze. I have resorted to copying the text, saving in BBEdit and sending as an attachment. note, this is possibly related to bug 345202 on Linux Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a text file of 1500 plus lines 2. try to paste this into a new compose window. 3. have someone else send you and email which has 1,500 Plus lines in it and then try to forward that to someone else. Actual Results: TB Freezes everytime. Expected Results: Compose window should open and display the entire msg being forwarded in the msg body area. or allow you to paste. TB version 1.5.0.5 (20060719)
OS: Mac OS X 10.3 → Mac OS X 10.4
Version: unspecified → 1.5
Please test in Thunderbird 2.0 Alpha 1 or on trunk. Also, please use Sampler.app to get a sample from the hang and attach it to the bug.
