User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 In an attempt to reduce eye ache, I've been teaking some Firefox options to change the color scheme of most web pages (i.e. black background instead of white). To do this, one step is to access about:config and set browser.display.use_document_colors = false. After doing so, certain graphical elements are no longer drawn, even when they are interactive elements on the page. Take a look at stage6.divx.com and you can see that there are 'left' and 'right' scrollbars on the front page beside the list of videos. If you turn browser.display.use_document_colors off, however, these dissappear. I wonder if this behaviour is correct or a bug, and if by chance it is correct if there is an enhancement that could be made to render such elements in greyscale or an alternative color scheme. Staring at bright white screens all day is killing my eyes... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit http://stage6.divx.com and notice left/right scroll controls on page 2. Set browser.display.use_document_colors = false using about:config 3. Visit http://stage6.divx.com and notice that left/right scroll controls are now invisible
Well, no, since it's a background image I don't think we'll wind up with a pref to "morph background images into something that harmonizes nicely with my chosen background and foreground colors." Separate prefs for colors and for images, yes maybe, but not something that will amount to "figure out whether or not I would like to see this background image, and show or hide it accordingly." *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 306625 ***

How about adding an option to outline DOM elements? This way I could have dim grey boxes around all elements on a page, including the active areas. I think your comment was a bit off, I consider this an accessibility feature.
