I'm working on a script in PHP which shows some pieces of news on and updates a RSS channel. Webpage which shows news includes the form to adding comments. When I'm opening the channel by Thunderbird it shows me a news with that form. When I want to send a comment (using Thunderbird) after pressing "Send" Firefox's openning new tab with webpage "after adding comment" and when I come back to the news I see just dates of adding comments without any data I've given. It seems that Thunderbird doesn't send variables from form using POST method to Firefox and as the result when Firefox's (and any other browser, I've Firefox as default) executing script which adds a comment doesn't have any values and just save dates what doesn't depend on form, I think.
In my opinion when Thunderbird open webpages with forms it should correctly run forms too.
Oh, and I'm using built 1.8.20060.6376, version 1.5.0.5 (20060719) PL (Polish) of Thunderbird
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add RSS channel I've given by Thunderbird and open an article
2. Fill fields "Dodaj swój komentarz" ("Add your comment"), "Twój podpis" ("Your nickname") and click on "Dopisz swoje zdanie" ("Save your opinion")
3. Look on date added below "Komentarze" ("Comments") without the body of comment and nickname
Actual Results:
Date (for example "20:40 23-08-2006 -") without any comment or nickname
Expected Results:
Date, comment and nickname sent by Thunderbird

Is this the same problem as bug 242974?

It looks like that, I hadn't found it before I've added the bug but I gave an example to test that. This bug could be uncomfortable for webmasters in some cases because it can for example, like in my case, "spam" their webpages. This problem had been found in Thunderbird 0.2 I found and nobody since 2003 hasn't given any really good solution. I think that service of showing forms with POST method shouldn't be enabled when there's no simple way to submit it correctly.
