Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/2.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/2.0 When I attempt to use the tabbed browser using Firefox 2.0 RC1 on Win98, all pages load to the leftmost tab, rather than loading to the selected tab. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) Navigate to a URL: http://www.google.com 2) Create a new tab: Ctrl+T 3) Click on the new tab. 4) Navigate to a different URL: http://www.infospace.com 5) The new URL will load in the leftmost tab, not in the selected tab.
Update: This bug only occurs when upgrading from Firefox 1.5 to Firefox 2.0. Once I did a clean reinstall of firefox (including deleting the firefox directory), the tabs worked as expected.
I can *confirm* that this happens for more than one person and that it happens in Windows XP home. Michael's solution of uninstalling and removing the firefox program directories and then re-installing works. This is definitely a bug that needs to be fixed.
Too bad we didn't realize at the time that it only occurs by upgrading while Firefox is still running somewhere (like another user) that we can't close. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 357922 ***
