From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win95; en-US; m14)
BuildID: 2000041210
When the underlining of a link is one pixel below the bottom of a window then it
is not painted when the window is scrolled up.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a page with a link.
2. Resize the browser so that the underline just disappears.
3. Scroll the page up.
Actual Results: The page is scrolled up but the underline for the link is not
painted.
Expected Results: The link should appear underlined.

Could not reproduce with 2000-04-13-08-M16, 2000-04-12-10-M16, or
2000-04-12-05-M15 on WinNT; the link underlining is painting as expected.

I couldn't reproduce this bug under recent Linux builds either. Is it a
praticular set of pages this problem occurs under or does it happen on any
pages? Have you tried another nightly build to see if the problem still occurs?

Unfortunately I can't get my font preferences to work,
but the bug only appears to affect monospace font,
e.g. links in preformatted text.

Still can't reproduce with 2000-04-16-05-M15 on WinNT; wondering if the
video driver could possibly be involved. I've got an ATI Rage 128 driver here.
How precise does "one pixel below" need to be? I tried several times, but I
can't say absolutely for certain that I clipped the underline *exactly*.

Curiouser and curiouser. Your testcase works perfectly.
However, the link to the testcase failed immediately!
My video driver is an ATI Rage II+ DVD.

OK, I accept that it's a video driver problem.

Bad news.
Just tried it with an Intel 3D Express on NT and I still occasionally see this.
I'm trying some other graphics cards:
S3 Trio 32/64 PCI on Windows 95 failed.
Diamond Multimedia Fire GL 1000 Pro on Windows 2000 failed.
Diamond Stealth SE on Windows 95 failed. And this was the one that I thought was
working properly...
In all cases the link's font was Courier New 12 pixels.

I am on Win95 as well with a ATI rage II+ (driver from 07/14/97), but can't
reproduce the problem.
So it can't be just a graphic card problem, strange.

The problem only occurs with some point sizes, e.g. 6, 8, 12 but not 10.
The problem occurs when scrolling up as well as down.
(Click on the testcase's window to reverse the direction of scrolling)
The problem also occurs when text is selected on the following line.
For instance, if I select some of the text below the words "Created an
attachment" above, the underline on the link disappears.
Summary: link underlining sometimes doesn't scroll into view → link underlining disappears

I am able to reproduce with the scrolling testcase 062009 build under NT

Looks like it's not invalidating the height correctly when scrolling. Using the
scrolltest I can get the lines to appear by dragging another window over the
text with the missing underlines and then moving it away.

Interesting, is Mozilla not calculating the font height/underline position
correctly? When I get bugmail with a linked email on one line and a smiley on
the next line the smiley overlaps the underline :-(

if there is multiple columns of links, like on page
http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/showbuilds.cgi?tree=SeaMonkey ,only links in the
middle of window are not underlined.
it also happens on the top of the window, if you scroll the other way.

Seen in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040210 in
Attachment #6 [details].
Very random in which lines are eliminated. Font zoom doesn't matter,
minimizing/maximizing doesn't matter either.

Also seen using Seamonkey build 2004021709 in
Attachment #6 [details].
Appears to be random in which links aren't underlined, but only happens with
smallest font on page. All larger fonts appear as they should.

http://dackz.net/.new/ -- Underlining consistently disappears from links on
right-side column for me here.
In Firefox, if I turn built-in smooth scrolling on, (or use the SmoothWheel
extension,) it disappears just by scrolling normally. I don't have to scroll so
the underlining just disappears out of view. With any kind of smooth scrolling
disabled, the underlining doesn't disappear unless I scroll it just out of view.

I can reproduce using the testcase in comment 14 with a 2006-01-06 trunk build, but not with a 2006-01-07 trunk build. (Testing on WinXP.) So it looks like the fix for bug 212302 fixed this too.
