User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Media Center PC 4.0) Build Identifier: (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/2.0 When I try to open a new webpage in a blank tab, the tab opens the new web page in the old tab. It also will not open hyperlinks in new tabs, too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open new firefox browser. 2.click file-new tab. 3.make new tab the active tab. 4.enter new web address and click enter. 5.browser will open new website in old tab. Actual Results: The steps produced the same effect. Expected Results: I should have the new webpage in the new browser.
You've got a broken installation, from the installer not being able to shut down Firefox (possibly run by a different user, or a hung process): your best bet is to uninstall, delete the Firefox directory in Program Files, use Task Manager to make sure there aren't any firefox.exe processes running and make sure no other users have Firefox running, and then reinstall. All of which won't mess with your bookmarks and settings, luckily. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 357922 ***
