I can still open another firefox window, and if I close them, the 2nd firefox.exe process remain. Platform: WinXP Version: Firefox 2.0 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. uninstall previous firefox (for me, it is 1.5.0.4) 2. delete Mozilla profile from %APPDATA%\Mozilla 3. install firefox 2.0 4. just open firefox and close them Actual Results: firefox.exe process still remain in Task Manager Expected Results: firefox close gracefully closed, and no process remain After I closed last firefox window (but firefox.exe still remain). I cannot copy profile directory (%APPDATA%\Mozilla). May be it is still locked.

How soon after you opened Firefox did you close it? If you did it rather quickly, this is probably a dupe of bug 355399.
