User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 In Outlook, one can edit a received message to perform any of the following edits: - change the subject - change the format (text, rich edit, HTML) - change the content - change the encoding of the message In Thunderbird, you cannot do that without resending the message (which by the way change the sender, so it is hard to have the same behavior as outlook). I suggest that you consider adding this feature to a future release of Thunderbird. Thanks, Manu Reproducible: Always Actual Results: none Expected Results: Being able to edit a message like outlook. This facility is useful especially when receiving an HTML email but you only care about the text content, or adding information (e.g. mailing list subscription information might not be complete,...). Working with persons from Russia and China, changing the encoding to western is useful, because in those encodings the text appears bigger or smaller in your email client (Thunderbird/Outlook behave the same here) than the other messages.
