I have on my system both Acrobat 8.0 and 7.0, and they're not playing nice. Not only does sm no longer show pdf's in browser tabs, it also crashes sometimes, after giving a message box saying "Can't load Adobe plugin" or something like that.

Adding "Acrobat 8.0 & 7.0" to summary, for ease of search.
Summary: seamonkey crashes when having trouble with PDF plugin → seamonkey crashes when having trouble with PDF plugin (Both Acrobat 8.0 & 7.0 exist)

Will TechNote by Adobe pointed by Bug 336184 Comment #12 help you?

To Eyal Rozenberg(bug opener):
Problem when both of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and Adobe Acrobat 8.0 were installed?
(Read the TechNote by Adobe, please.)
Or crash problem even when combination of AcroRd32.exe/nppdf32.dll of single version is correctly used?
If latter, crash problem when 7.0? Or 8.0?

Well, I can't help with this bug any longer since I no longer have both applications installed.
This can be closed as WFM if you like.
