It doesn't find one to install and it won't locate one doing it manually either. And also when a wmv is downloaded it shows that it needs Windows Media Player 11. I have it installed on this computer. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a site that has a a/v to view 2.Download a wmv file and try to play it. 3.
Reporter, please have a look at http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows.html#WMP Does that help? Also, please always provide a link to a page on which your problem can be reproduced. It's not feasible for us to go and find web pages with particular features/problems for each reported issue. Thank you :)
This is the latest URL that I was attempting to view -- http://www.funatico.com/play.php?clip_id=228
I'm not using Windows anymore, so i can't test the page with the same configuration as you're using. Can someone with XP try to reproduce this? For what it's worth, the page works for me on Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061218 Minefield/3.0a1. Reporter, can you type about:plugins in the address bar of your browser and see what's listed for windows media files?
confirmed on XP Media Center Edition (research shows this appears to be an MCE problem) this should be marked duplicate of 360336
duping, per comment 4.
