Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a2pre) Gecko/20070131 Minefield/3.0a2pre
Build Identifier: Starting with TB version 3 alpha 1 of 20070110 - Installer version
Starting with TB 3.9a1 dated 20070110 the mail subject (as present in the Subject field) is sometimes followed by the mail text separated by ' - ' (space hyphen space)
In that version the real Subject ends with a non-printable character which precedes the ' - '. Starting with the next version (20070111) the non-printable end-of-line character disappeared from the subject lines which contain mail text.
An example of a mail which produced this bug is enclosed in the Additional information.
All mails which present the overflow symptom contain Content-Type of:
Content-Type: text/html; charset="windows-1252"
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
But not all mail containing these Content-Type produce the overflow
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Two additional remarks:
- should read 3.0a1 instead of 3.9a1
- URL is not underlined, neither in 'Actual results'

Usually "that's not a bug, it's a feature" is a joke, but in this case it's literally true: that's the start of an experiment with webmail-style previews of the body text in spare space after the subject.
