WFM with 2.0pre-0308, Win2K.
Do you have any extensions installed? If so, do you see the same results when running TB in Safe Mode?

I have multiple installations where I regularly check my mail. The latest stable release under both Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP behave properly. Two of the Windows XP installs where the problem occurs are the version 2 betas with the Lightning extension installed. On one of them, I removed the extension and the problem still occurs. I have another installation where no extensions have ever been installed where I haven't noticed the problem, but I use that system rarely (& I can't recall off-hand which version of TB it runs). There may be another difference also...
I observe that it happens when I "Get Mail", but only when it retrieves mail. It does not happen unless there is mail. Additionally, it does not always happen when there is mail. Currently, I'm thinking it may be the Junk mail processing, when it moves junk mail to the junk folder.
Still experimenting...

Ah, you are correct about junk processing causing a scrollback; and there's a fix which got checked in to the branch on Feb 12.
