It would be very nice if search had a search on recipient field. You might think you just have to sort on recipient and pick them out there, but for some reason things come in with various case variations, so that's quite a bit of work.

Could you try to see if it still happens with
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/ ?
turningoff@cox.net probably I don't understand, but you can use "To or CC" or not?
