Thunderbird version 2 beta 2 (20070326) Thunderbird version 3 alpha1 (20070403) trunk Test on Solaris Nevada snv_61 vermillion62_devel X86 Reproduce steps: 1.Tools->Message Filters 2.Select a filter you set before,Click 'Run now'.The 'Run now' button changs to 'Stop' 3.Click 'Stop',the filter stops working. The button changes back to 'Run now' 4.Click 'Run now' again, no response. The filter won't work. 5.After restart thunderbird, click 'run now',the filter can perform actions it hasn't finished last time. Expected results: After #4:the filter can run again and perform actions it hasn't finished last time. Additional information: Part of the filter rules: Perform these actions: copy message to a local folder
Are you sure the action is not performed? I mean, the action may have been finished quickly so that "Stop" just flash then disappear, and hard to notice. Do you have any message satisfying the filter, but the action isn't performed on it?
yes, I know what you mean. :) If the filter succeed, it will more than 600 mails copied in a local folder. When reproduce the bug,the mail number is less than the correct number, even after restart the thunderbird.
Thanks for confirming. also reproducible on Linux, probably also exists on Windows, but I don't have a Windows environment to confirm. It looks like "Stop" doesn't really stop the action, some kinda lock may not be released.

Evan, can you try it again?
Ginn Chen, Evan wrote me on 7-13 that he's not working on mozilla bugs ATM.
no feedback, so => incomplete. if you disagree and still see the problem using the most recent version of thunderbird, please comment in the bug
