In the case you mention (at a public computer) there are a variety of preference setting that are needed to ensure secure operations such as clear cache, passwords, cookies, history. All these setting should be used. Not security sensitive

In particular, don't use "Show my windows and tabs from last time" if you're concerned about this. Or adjust the cookie-saving level so they aren't saved at all through preferences (this will affect crash-induced recovery as well). The preference is browser.sessionstore.privacy_level and the value you want is 2 instead of the default 1.
