works for me on Thunderbird 2 on Fedora FC 6. Do you use themes ? Can you try to check if you see this problem also in Safe Mode (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode) If not, can you attach a sceenshot.

The usual cause of this is that your font is small--Thunderbird overcompensates and makes the dialog smaller than it should be. Or your font is wide--Thunderbird does not take account of font width at all. Anyway, it's Thunderbird's version of bug 283697. To work around it, see: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Dialog_too_small_or_too_large

OK, I tried Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.2pre) Gecko/20090723 Shredder/3.0b4pre but it has the same problem.

I'm curious why it fails for Rod but works for Wayne...

Also if bug #516586 is newest that this, I close this as dupe of bug #516586 because includes more cases of the same issue.
