User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 When I try to install version 0.8.0.1 of the XForms add-on, in my Firefox 2.0.0.4, it starts to download and then reports the error Firefox Could Not Install The File At https://Addons.Mozilla.Org/En-Us/Firefox/Downloads/File/16445/Mozilla_Xforms-0.0.0.1-Fx+Sm-Macosx.Xpi I installed 2.0.0.4 fresh on a Windows machine and had no trouble with the Windows installer for XForms 0.8.0.1, so I suspect something uninteresting went wrong in the OS-specific packaging of the add-on. Because: Invalid File Hash (Possible Download Corruption) -261 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. On a Mac OSX machine, in a Firefox 2.0.0.4 with no XForms add-in, navigate to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/824 2. Click on the button reading "Install now (MacOSX)" 3. A modal dialog box will appear, with the message You have asked to install the following item: Mozilla XForms from: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/... and two buttons ('Cancel' and 'Install Now'). Click 'Install Now'. Actual Results: After the 'install now' button is clicked, a window entitled 'Add-ons' appears. A second window, which looks like a progress-display window, also appears very briefly, but then disappears and is replaced by a message window containing the error message described above. Expected Results: What I expected, and what happened on the Windows machine, is that a message appeared indicating the successful installation of the XForms extension. On the assumption that successful installation counts as a 'major' feature of any extension, it's tempting to suggest that this be given severity 'major'. That seems excessive, so I'm leaving it as normal. But until it gets fixed, I can't do any XForms work with Firefox.
I seem to have inserted a comment in the middle of the transcription of the error message. Sorry. The error message I'm receiving does not have any digressive discussion of any Windows machine; it reads only Firefox Could Not Install The File At https://Addons.Mozilla.Org/En-Us/Firefox/Downloads/File/16445/Mozilla_Xforms-0.0.0.1-Fx+Sm-Macosx.Xpi Because: Invalid File Hash (Possible Download Corruption) -261
I was able to confirm this on my MacBook Pro. Same error message (except that the file URL is ...Xforms-0.8.0.1-...).

Thanks for the confirmation Javier. This falls into the realm of addons, so routing there.

Looks like the file in question is under review which explains the failed hash check -- the file doesn't yet exist on the mirrors. It is a possible bug in the public page (shouldn't show the link if it's not approved!). I updated the file status and it should be showing up on the public mirrors shortly. I also recalculated the hash. Looks to be fixed, please reopen if there are still issues with the hash check.
