Spinoff from bug 315357... The interface there exposes image data as an array of bytes, and wants it to be [shared] to avoid schlepping around memory with every call. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work, and so the resulting breaking of XPCOM conventions effectively makes it unscriptable.
