User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 Build Identifier: 1.5.0.12 When a mail (with attachment) is saved and forwarded, I am not able to view the attachments or save them. It says cannot recognize the file extensions Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Save a mail with attachments 2.Forward the same to me 3.I cannot open or save the attachments Actual Results: I was not able to view or save the attachments
What version of Thunderbird are you using? Do you see any error within the error console? Do you really have to save the attachment before forwarding it to another person? Which is your default mode for forwarding a message (inline or attachment)?
Bug 351064 perhaps?
Version: unspecified → 1.5
Version : 1.5.0.12 There is no error in the console.I just get "Error while saving. Please check the extension" I could not view the attachment. So, I thought of saving it and then viewing it and ended up in the error.
It's still unclear for me what are you doing between step 1 and 2 of your initial post. Do you save the message and open the saved message afterwards to forward it?
Let me explain this a bit in detail. Assume that one of my colleague saves a mail ( I do not know the reason for this). The saved mail has attachments. When such a "SAVED" mail is forwarded to me, I am unable to view the attachments. So, when I try to save the attachments, I get the above mentioned errors. Hope this is a bit more clear. Thanks
Yes, thanks Jagdish. Than it's a variant of bug 351064.
