Since most of the time I send screenshots, it would be a good idea to allow the user to choose which compression (either jpeg or png) to use. Something like CTRL+V to paste as jpeg and CTRL+(SHIFT/ALT)+V to paste as png. Better yet, the format could be chosen by "autosensing" the type of image (natural or screenshot/graphics). BTW, even allowing to choose the compression level for jpeg would be useful. Reproducible: Always
