I finally have to close Firefox to get the tabs to stop opening. At last count after I let it go for a bit, it had opened and loaded about 300 blank tabs. -Al Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Tools 2. Go to options 3. Go to content 4. Go to manage files 5. Find the .doc & .rtf files 6. Go to change action 7. Push the radio button that says open them with this application 8. Choose browse and choose Firefox as the application 9. Go to the file list (Ctlr+O) 10. Double click on a .doc or .rtf file 11. you have probably setup firefox as the default handler for .doc .rtf, see in Tools>Options>Content>Filetypes>download actions if you have them listed with "action => open with Firefox" and change action to the right application probably dupe of Bug 369052
