Firefox trunk from today (2007-08-05), OS X, 10.4.10 Not sure if this is a Places problem or tabbrowsing problem. This is difficult to explain in words, just try these steps: 1. Have a few tabs open 2. Drag a tab and hover it over a bookmarks folder on the bookmarks toolbar 3. Drop it somewhere in the tab bar Actual result: For some reason, the previously-dragged-over bookmarks folder quickly opens and closes AFTER the drag is done. Expected result: The bookmarks folder shouldn't react, and especially not after the whole drag sequence is done.

I see a similar issues that regressed between the 2007-08-03-04 and 2007-08-04-04 trunk builds on linux. Steps to reproduce: 1. create a bookmark folder in your bookmarks toolbar folder with several subfolders (> 5). 2. drag a url from the url bar to the bookmarks folder and then over the subfolders. Expected behavior: the subfolder being hovered over should open. Actual behavior: the subfolder being hovered over does not open but if you have enough subfolders, subfolder (n+4) will open when subfolder n is hovered over. Bug 385536 looks like a good candidate.

Could be related to bug 337761 if the folder open/close events are just being delayed until after the drop.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv

I have this problem as well on Arch Linux Firefox 14.0.1 When I click on the arrow at the end of the bookmarks bar and drag a bookmark on the drop-down menu to re-position it, my "Others" folder gets "confused" and re-positions itself. But it's only a visual, it's did not actually re-position because reloading the bookmarks list reveals that it's still in the same spot. I'm gonna take a screencast of this to show you.

Here's a screencast: http://tinypic.com/r/2923fvd/6 Sorry if the quality isn't that good. To reproduce the bug, add a bookmark to the bookmarks bar (making sure that you have enough to warrant an extender menu). Then, open the extender menu and try to reorganize the bookmarks on it. The folder in the bookmarks toolbar will also move, but upon looking at the list through the bookmarks manager, you will see that everything is normal. The display seems to get confused.

I am no longer on Arch Linux, so I cannot test it on that OS. On Windows 8 Firefox 27.0.1, all is good.
