User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007081402 SeaMonkey/2.0a1pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007081402 SeaMonkey/2.0a1pre Current builds crash after startup without any feedback. Previous version I have that works is a 2.0 alpha build from 14.08.07. It concerns both installer and archive. The result doesn't depend on profile or plug-ins. I renamed my profile directory or unpacked Seamonkey into a new directory - the result is the same. Running seamonkey -profilemanager doesn't change anything. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install current nightly build. 2. Try to run the suite. Actual Results: Program exits without any notice. Expected Results: Running program.
It would be very helpful if you can find the exact build when the crash first occurred.
For me 20070828 is the last one that works. I haven't tried today's (20070908) yest, but 20070907 still doesn't work. This is on XPSP2. Win2K does seem to work - I'm writing this on my Windows 2000 machine with 20070907. It doesn't matter if I use the .exe or the .zip. There is absolutely no sign of it working, although using Sysinternals' Process Monitor I see a lot of activity. If I use -console, I get a brief flash. There's nothing in the eventlog, nor anywhere else that I can find. Looks like a duplicate of Bug 394742, which has been marked a duplicate of 394190. (Sorry, I see no way to embed the bug url in this comment.)
