User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.7) Gecko/20070914 Firefox/2.0.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.7) Gecko/20070914 Firefox/2.0.0.7 There needs to be a setting option in firefox to turn this off. It makes writing grammatically correct emails nearly impossible anytime i try to use the apostrophe key. Even after searching google there is no easy method to disable it, and the ones that are available do not seem to work for anyone. Either map the shortcut to a much less used key than "/" or "apostrophe" or give us the option to disable it please. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start typing in gmail 2. accidently hit the "/" 3. lose any ability to write possessives of nouns Actual Results: now my friends can't tell if i'm being lazy or retarded Standard installation of firefox 2 web developer tool bar ad blocker plus
"do not seem to work for anyone" should be "do not seem to work for everyone"
Not reproducible here with the same configuration + no extensions, looks like an extension problem. I suspect Adblock Plus. Retry with Adblock Plus disabled (Tools -> Add-Ons -> right click Adblock Plus -> Disable, then restart Firefox), then post the results. As a workaround, you might try the Keyconfig extension.
