User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071008 Firefox/2.0.0.8
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.6 (20070728)
When forward messages that contain inline images, if the attachment is forwarded as "inline" the images are not included. Editing the HTML of the received image shows that a link that points to the local copy of the image on the sender's C-Drive.
Forwarding as an attachment sends the images correctly.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive message containing images
2. Forward message to someone else as "inline"
3. Have recipient view message

WFM on linux/trunk.
Do the image show up to you while composing? Can you attach the source of the problem email?

The images do not show up in the compose window if you click the Forward button. If you right-click on the message and click "Edit as New" the images do show up. It is not any one particular e-mail. Pretty much every e-mail that contains in-line images has the problem. If you double-click on the image in the compose window, "Attach this image to the message" is not checked and the Image location will say, for example: "ailbox:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/<username_deleted>/Application%20Data/Thunderbird/Profiles/<profile_name_deleted>/Mail/Local%20Folders/Inbox?number38611051&part=1.1.2&filename=Fw%3A%20Now%20This%20Is%20Camping!.eml&fetchCompleteMessage=true&filename=ATT11.jpg"
(Any data enclosed in <> was deleted by me before posting)
Note that the M is missing form the "Mailbox://" tag . Not sure if this is the problem or not as adding the m back in this dialog and clicking OK does not make the image visible and the program complains of an attachment error and says I should be sure I have access to that image. I am attaching the original e-mail and an example of what it looks like as a forward.

In reference to my previous comment, I was unable to attach the original with the correctly displaying images due to the attachment size limits.

Can't reproduce on windows/2.0 either.
(In reply to comment #3) The attachment unfortunately does not show in which format the original message was created. Your description matches bug 307023 under the assumption that the HTML part was encoded as quoted printable.
You can verify this by looking into the messages source (type CTRL+U when displaying the original message) and search for a "Content-Type: text/html" header followed by a "Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable" entry.
Brent, please get back to this bug within two weeks and provide the additional information indicated in comment #6, thus it can be verified whether or not it is a duplicate of bug 307023. If no further information comes in, I'd suggest to close this bug as incomplete.
