Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071008 Firefox/2.0.0.8
Build Identifier: 2.0.0.6 (20070728)
When trying to change the sort order of an existing folder, the change in sort order is not saved. When navigating to another folder and back, the sort order is back to it's original). Changing other folder options or quiting the application does not resolve (folder sort order keeps returning to no longer wanted previous sort order).
This behavior appears to be folder specific (some have it, while others do not). Seems to only occur for folders with a name change (an .msf file with the old name still exists), but not straight away (like only after a few minutes).
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Rename existing folder & wait 1 or 2 minutes
2. Change sort order to be based on another field
3. Swith to another folder and back -> new sort order is lost

nikolay, this might be a dupe. how long did you have to wait?

I've changed sort of folder, renamed it and look into it. Sort order disappears no wait at all. For my case it regenerate index, think its new folder.

I can reproduce this with version 2.0.0.19 (20081209) (Windows XP).
Not exactly sure how to reproduce it on demand, it happens randomly for me. I did not rename the folder as this happens to my Inbox.
However I found a workaround when searching info about this problem:
1) View > Sort By > Grouped By Sort G
2) View > Sort By > Threaded
=> this makes the sort order setting saved to the configuration file
ps. the problem started to happen exactly after new year's eve, so it might be related to year (date) change? :)
